Be the Change Student Page

Application process is closed for 2012 -- Check back with us in the fall for the 2013 competition

Over 250 students in Washington state submitted proposals in the inaugural year of Be the Change. In the first round of the competition, teams of students representing high schools, community colleges and universities around the state proposed solutions and innovations in global health. A panel of judges representing global health, business, media and education invited 43 semi-finalist teams to submit detailed projects and videos on their idea. Join us at Groundswell: A Night for Global Health, a free event for the public to recognize the 2012 winners.

Congratulations to the teams selected as 2012 winners!

What is global health?

We define global health work as ensuring the most vulnerable populations, both here at home and around the globe, have access to basic health. In 2000, the United Nations created the Millennium Development Goals, which are the top priorities in health and development. Check out what some of our local global health organizations are doing to achieve these goals around the world.
