Dr. Lawrence Corey is president and director of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and professor of medicine and laboratory medicine at the University of Washington. He is also principal investigator of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, an international collaboration of scientists and institutions dedicated to accelerating the development of HIV vaccines. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine and the Board of Scientific Counselors-Basic Sciences of the National Cancer Institute, a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and a member of the American Epidemiological Society and the Association of American Physicians. Corey received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and his infectious diseases training at the University of Washington.
