Apply to cover United Nations, NGO Conference as a Student Journalist

 The 63rd Annual United Nations Department of Public Information/Non-Governmental Organization Conference is providing an exceptional opportunity for student journalists, reporters, producers, youth advocates, editors, writers, and social media outlets to attend and report about the 2010 conference in Melbourne, Australia August 30th–September 1st. Applications to cover the conference are now open.   Applicants should include a cover letter, resume, and samples of previous journalistic reporting if available. Students enrolled in, or recently graduated with a Journalism degree are preferred.  Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. 

 
The conference is entitled Advance Global Health: Achieve the Millenium Development Goals.  Representatives from 2,000 Non-Governmental Organizations from all over the world will meet with UN and governmental officials as well as UN agencies, corporations, health, education and financial institutions, private sector speakers, citizen activists and journalists. Round tables and workshops will discuss broad subject of interest to the community regarding global health and the Millennium Development Goals. The role of NGOs and community activism will be evaluated in regard to achieving the Millenium Development Goals and advancing global health initiatives.
