Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Location: Seattle Biomedical Research Institute
Discovery Conference Room

Seattle BioMed is offering a special Global Health 101 evening of interactive science for kids, teens and parents! Whether you're a science geek at heart or you share our passion for improving health, this is your chance to participate in hands-on science and learn about the important role you play in improving global health. Seattle BioMed scientists and BioQuest students will host age-appropriate activities* including:
- Bath fizzies: learn the chemical reaction that makes it happen
- Global health cinema: watch movies with science themes
- DNA necklaces: make and wear your own DNA accessory
- Mosquito dissections: can you spot the transparent salivary glands?
- Lab tours: meet our scientists and peer through microscopes in our world-class labs
The science fun will be kicked-off with a casual reception and free pizza. Families and friends involved with Seattle BioMed will offer brief insights about uniting the entire family around a cause, volunteering and the importance of philanthropy.
Parents, please plan to accompany your children during this family event. While you tour the research labs and teens visit the BioQuest lab, children under 12 will join scientists for fun activities in our BioQuest Gallery and conference rooms.
RSVP today toelli.koskella@seattlebiomed.org or 206.256.7214.
*Due to laboratory age restrictions, some activities for young children will be made available outside of Seattle BioMed's laboratory space, which can only accommodate ages 12 and older. Staff will help direct guests to the most age-appropriate activities.
