In the wake of major natural disasters and war the need for timely and efficient healthcare delivery is imperative. Dr. Gilbert Burnham has undertaken humanitarian needs assessments, program planning and evaluation aimed at addressing the needs in underserved communities. Dr. Burnham is the co-director for the Center for Refugee and Disaster Response at Johns Hopkins University. A study is currently underway on health facilities in Iraq in order to determine the war's impact on Iraq's health infrastructure. Dr. Burnham's research will be highlighted in his lecture, "Afghanistan after 5 years: measuring the performance of a health system in a fragile state."
Join the Washington Global Health Alliance for the March Discovery Series Lecture. A networking reception will immediately follow the lecture in the Foege Vista Cafe.
