Seattle Biomedical Research Institute is looking for an Administrative Coordinator to provide support for five Principal Investigators (PIs). This position includes file/records management, correspondence, calendar management and meeting scheduling, financial tracking and reporting, organizing and coordinating complex international travel. This position will also entail project coordination of grant application processes (Federal and Private), publication submission, teaching/course activities, Institute PI responsibilities and conference planning. The Administrative Coordinator will serve as a liaison representing PIs internally and externally.
Competitive applicants to this job will have 4-6 years of progressive administrative experience including one or more years of experience in independent project coordination. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and an understanding of financial processes and budgets are needed. Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Group Administrator, Diagnostics Development, Technology Solutions

The Group Administrator will be responsible for the overall administrative and financial management of the diagnostics development team. This position will work closely with the Group Leader and all the diagnostics portfolio managers on strategic priority setting and partnership issues, fundraising, personnel, labor and resource allocation, donor relations, and non-technical aspects of project management. The Group Administrator will also assist in designing, then implementing a set of documents and systems for characterizing projects and moving them through the product development pipeline. The Administrator is responsible for overall financial management including financial projections and forecasting & budget development and oversight.
Competitive applicants to this position will have existing knowledge of administrative and financial systems, as well as donor rules and regulations especially from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and U.S. government agencies. Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and should be detail-oriented. A Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or Business Management is required, plus seven years experience in management and administration in an international organization. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Nonprofit Management is preferred.
