The WGHA also offers research and technology grants for pilot projects in global health. These grants focus on diseases and health conditions that have a larger burden in the developing world and receive inequitable attention.
Grants may be awarded for up to $75,000 (including indirect expenses) for one-year projects. The WGHA will give preference to new research directions, investigators who are not currently working on global health issues, and new research collaborations.
To be eligible, a principal investigator must be a faculty member at a nonprofit research institution in Washington State. Preference will be given to principal investigators who have not previously received funding from the Washington Global Health Alliance. Previously funded projects will not be considered for additional funding.
The application process for 2008 proposals has ended. Information on the status of grant applications will be posted to this page soon.
