David Owens serves as World Vision’s Chief Development Officer & National Director in Foundations Engagement, and is responsible for developing strategic partnerships with US Fortune 50 corporations, major foundations, nonprofit and public sector entities.
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. At present, World Vision serves close to 100 million people in nearly 100 countries around the world and is particularly well known for its emergency relief, economic development, and advocacy efforts.
David joined World Vision following a 27-year career in marketing, advertising and sales management with major corporations such as Washington Mutual, Verizon Wireless, EvanGroup Advertising (now Publicis), and Bank of America. Throughout his career in the financial services, wireless and advertising industries, David’s been thrilled to lead cross-functional teams to enter new markets, develop new products and create high-impact promotional campaigns with professional sports organizations, the US Olympic Committee and others.
David holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a BA in Classical Studies from Stanford University.
