Drew’s program background is in international relief, managing teams that fund and implement emergency efforts to assist survivors of all kinds of disasters, both natural and human-made. Since joining World Vision in 2004, Drew has deployed to earthquake, flood, and conflict zones from South Sudan to Iraq to North Korea, and to refugee camps from Azerbaijan to Rwanda.
Drew has led the design of humanitarian projects in a wide variety of technical sectors, ranging from agriculture to health. He has guided field offices in liaising with the U.S. Government and other institutional donors as they develop and implement plans to help communities recover from disasters.
In his Seattle-based work with foundations, Drew is drawn to aid work that builds mutuality. “Global engagement ought to be transformational – not just for those who are served, but for those who are funding it. More than just philanthropy, we look to promote connection, perspective, and care.”
A native Kansan, Drew attended Wheaton College and completed his graduate studies at the University of Chicago. He lives in Federal Way, Washington with his wife and daughters.
