Tsega Desta is the Member Engagement Manager at the Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA). She helps cultivate and steward WGHA’s 80 members and designs and manages WGHA’s annual events.
Prior to joining WGHA, Tsega worked for thirteen years as a Senior Project Coordinator at the Allen Institute for Brain Science where she was responsible for leading multiple projects and interfacing and coordinating across diverse teams. She previously worked in the lab for several biotech companies and the University of Washington. In addition to Her professional achievements, Tsega created and leads a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the continuing education of 18 children in Ethiopia.
WGHA connects and informs Washington’s global health community, creating a culture of collaboration at home so our members can have more impact in the world. The first organization of its kind, WGHA was founded in 2007 and today has more than 80 members working to achieve health equity.
