By 2040, the global burden of new cancer cases is expected to grow to 27.5 million and new cancer deaths to 16.3 million. The Max Foundation (Max) believes in a world where all people can access high-impact medicines, where geography is not destiny, and everyone can strive for health with dignity and hope. For over 25 years Max has worked to accelerate health equity. Our mission is to increase global access to treatment, care, and support for people living with cancer. Specifically, we create access channels to innovative cancer medicines for people in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) where no other means of access exist. We work with national cancer centers and other public institutions, health care providers, patient associations, pharmaceutical, and diagnostics manufacturers, and governmental and non-governmental agencies to provide access to life-saving treatments. Our international non-profit functions as an operating foundation with funds raised spent directly on our proprietary access programs. Patients are at the center of all we do.

The Max Foundation is currently working to increase the size and scope of our access programs to reach more cancer patients and meet today's global health needs now and in the future. Max is an ambitious, mission-driven, thoughtful, and patient-oriented organization aiming for a large-scale impact. With annual in-kind donations valued at more than $600M, an operating budget of over $10M, and over 60 global team members, Max delivers more than 10,000,000 daily doses of life-saving cancer medication to thousands of patients in over 70 countries annually and in collaboration with nearly 200 medical institutions. Through our work, we improve and save lives, promote health equity globally, enable humanitarian donations of life-saving therapies to patients in LMIC, and strengthen healthcare systems.

The Max Foundation is looking for a Director of Global Supply Chain to join our team. This is a new position that reports to the VP of Programs, with a globally disbursed team of four (4), oversight of a $4M budget, and an outsized impact on ensuring patients receive uninterrupted access to life-saving care.

The Role

The Director of Global Supply Chain (DGSC) will inform and implement global supply chain strategic initiatives, ensuring patients receive quality therapeutics, in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role requires significant leadership skills and ability, strong collaboration and planning skills, and the ability to think broadly and understand the nuances of delivering therapeutics in low-resourced settings. Strong relationship-building skills and a patient-centered approach are critical in this work. We are looking for an innovative, inspiring, and data-driven leader able to develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies, ensure quality, patient access, and reduce supply chain costs as appropriate. Max's next phase of growth will require the Director to be skilled in forging relationships across functional groups to enable the evolution of MAPs systems, planning processes, warehouse inventory systems, product life cycle management, and stewarding donor supply agreements relationships.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker experienced in executing supply chain activities capable of supporting growth and global distribution. This person must be forward-thinking with highly developed problem-solving abilities and capable of developing strategic plans to improve operations quality, efficacy, and efficiency. What you will bring:

Candidates will be evaluated on the full range of their lived and learned experience, professional background, volunteer experience, and direct and transferable skills. The Max Foundation is seeking candidates with a compelling combination of demonstrated experience and skills in some, or all, of the following areas:

10+ years of professional experience and career growth working and/or consulting in the global supply chain strategy and implementation in global health. LMIC and of pharmaceutical products are preferred.
5+ years of experience managing globally disbursed teams preferred.
Experience working in a global and multicultural capacity across time zones and among diverse teams desired.
Strong financial experience/focus - deep understanding of supply chain metrics, KPIs, and how to drive improvement in those metrics.
Subject Matter Expertise in 3 or more functional areas of the provider supply chain: Logistics, Supply Chain Strategy, Supply Chain Resilience, Value Analysis.
Excellent project management skills: ability to manage multiple projects of complex scope.
Superior analytical problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate both strategic and operational issues and recommend solutions.

Deploy and monitor the performance of the core supply processes within Max, donor partners, and 3PL partners.
Implement change management with the ability to facilitate change.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position with a target starting salary range of $110,000 – $140,000, depending on experience. We offer a generous benefits package, including:
