ALL I NEED IS THE AIR I BREATHE: PNEUMONIA BEST PRACTICE

REGISTER HERE

Pneumonia is the single largest infectious cause of death in children worldwide, accounting for 15% of all deaths of children under five years old. Its effects are widespread but is most prevalent in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Children can be protected from pneumonia, it can be prevented with simple interventions, and treated with low-cost, low-tech medication and care. In this forum, researchers will discuss the latest in best practices in pneumonia research, including the findings from a recent MCRI-led review of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) and pneumonia in children for the WHO, efforts to improve the chest x-ray diagnosis of pneumonia, and the interplay between malnutrition and pneumonia.
