Global Summit on International Breast Health and Cancer Control

October 15, 2018 - October 17, 2018

Convened in cooperation with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)

In May 2017, the 70th World Health Assembly adopted the resolution “Cancer prevention and control in the context of an integrated approach” calling on the WHO Director-General to leverage the work of other organizations “to develop or adapt stepwise and resource-stratified guidance and tool kits in order to establish and implement comprehensive cancer prevention and control programmes.”

In response, the Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI) invites your organization to join the BHGI Alliance, a public/private partnership, to develop a systematic, evidence-based, phased implementation framework, to translate resource-stratified guidelines into practice as part of its Sixth Global Summit on International Breast Health.

This Summit will provide a unique opportunity for the international community to examine the current state of scientific understanding regarding successful models of breast cancer diagnosis and care delivery and resource utilization, and to analyze issues affecting barriers in access to care. BHGI is a founding member of the Breast Cancer Initiative 2.5 (BCI2.5), a global campaign to reduce disparities in breast cancer outcomes for 2.5 million women by 2025. The activities and objectives of this Summit are intended to support global efforts to develop practical strategies to achieve this goal.
