Over the past several years there has been renewed focus on creating more equal partnerships between global health organizations headquartered in high-income countries and the organizations, institutions, and communities in the low- and middle-income countries they are funded to support. This panel discussion will focus on what this means for US-based global health professionals and the training of global health students.

What essential skills are the most important for US global health professionals to bring to these more equal partnerships? How might, or how should, accountability change for funding dollars which are tied to health service outcomes? How might or how should ‘success’ be measured in newly structured partnerships?

Please join us for this special I-TECH seminar where we will engage with the leadership of three Seattle-based global health organizations. Our fourth panelist is a current PhD student in Global Health and an emerging expert in bringing an implementation science lens to the practice of decolonizing global health.

The I-TECH Global Health Research Seminar Series is a monthly seminar series hosted by the International Training and Education Center for Health in the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington (UW). The series is designed to showcase ongoing research, foster collaborations, and discuss future opportunities. The presentations are open to all interested faculty, staff, and students at UW.
