Global Learning Community of Practice Convening: Partners in Health, VillageReach & Washington Department of Health
June 23 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
The global COVID pandemic has been a reminder that all health is global health, and that we in the United States have much to learn from the experience of health care systems in other countries. With support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) has convened leaders from Partners In Health (PIH), VillageReach and the Washington Department of Health to speak to examples of how global learnings from abroad can be applied in the United States.
Join us to hear more PIH and VillageReach leadership about how they have been applying practices which have built stronger health care systems in Africa and elsewhere to systems in the United States to improve health equity. Washington State Secretary of Health Umair Shah will share his vision for how engaging in these initiatives that bring global knowledge to local issues are critical to the future of public health in Washington state, using the VillageReach and Department of Health partnership in COVID vaccine rollouts as a case study for learnings and discussion.
- Emily Bancroft, President, VillageReach
- Katie Bollbach, Executive Director, Partners In Health (PIH) United States
- Umair Shah, Secretary of Health, Washington Department of Health
This convening will take place on Thursday, June 23 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM Pacific Time. Register to receive the Zoom link 24 hours prior to this gathering. For questions, please reach out to Kayla Jan at email@example.com.
