Science in the City: Mindfulness from Weightlessness: An evening with Astronaut Soyeon Yi

June 5, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Dr. Soyeon Yi is the first and only Korean astronaut to have traveled to space. In 2008, she traveled to the International Space Station aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft, where she completed an 11-day mission as a scientific consultant. The journey to claim this title took her through a year-long, televised contest in Korea, where she out-performed 36,000 other candidates and completed the rigorous cosmonaut training in Russia’s Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. Join us for a fireside chat as Dr. Yi narrates her journey and celebrates her 10-year flight anniversary.

This event is part of The Pacific Science Center’s on going Science in the City lecture series.

Tickets are $5 or FREE for members. Enter through the North Entrance. Doors open at 6:40. No late seating permitted. Meet and Greet following the Lecture at 9 p.m.
