STEM Global Public Engagement Training

September 25 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$30 – $40

Join us for an interactive and engaging professional development session led by Anna Johnson, of Pacific Science Center. This three-hour training will introduce the fundamentals of science communication and will provide a foundation for future public engagement experiences. This training is based on work from Pacific Science Center’s Portal to the Public initiative, a National Science Foundation-funded framework to connect scientists with public audiences through meaningful, face-to-face interactions.

In this session you will:

  •          Gain knowledge of best practices in informal science education
  •          Practice simple techniques for talking science with non-scientists
  •          Refine key messages related to your areas of expertise

Audience: Active researchers and global health practitioners in science-based roles.

Cost:  $30 for WGHA members, $40 for non-members

Registration: Registration will close on Monday, September 23.
