2022 Small Group Sign-Ups
The Women in Global Health (WGH) Seattle small groups are designed to create community and foster collaboration and peer-to-peer mentoring. We’ve heard so many inspiring stories from leaders and participants alike. We invite you to join us by signing up for one of the small groups below!
We will leave the small group sign-ups open so that newcomers can still join small groups throughout the year. The first meeting for 2022 is listed below for each group. We encourage you to sign up in time to join the first session if you’re able.
Advocacy and Storytelling to Drive Change
Our focus is on developing a public narrative around women’s involvement in the global health field. We do this by developing our own ‘story of now’ to tie together the narrative pieces.
Career and Motherhood (led by Heather Pitorak and Ashley Marks)
We discuss the challenges of balancing motherhood and a global health career.
Led by Heather Pitorak and Ashley Marks
Starts Friday, January 28 | 12:00 – 1:00 pm | Meets every other month, typically on the last Friday (occasionally a different date due to holidays or travel)
Quantitative Wine Group
We meet to discuss research, COVID-19 news, and life during the pandemic. We have a revolving host, which allows the host to select a date that works for her and ensures that everyone can attend a few sessions regardless of other commitments.
Global Health Consultants
Join us for a conversation about working for yourself in the field of global health. We’ll focus on the practical realities of launching and building a business — and how women can lead from the outside in.
Health Equity and Social Justice (led by Rebecca Bryant and Alicia Eyler)
For each month’s discussion, we identify a topic of interest and share supporting articles, podcasts, etc. and then discuss at the next meeting.
Women in Global Health Seattle Book Club
This is a space to extend our thinking through global health related books, while making new connections. We pace our books based on folk’s schedules and vary who leads the discussion.
