The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is an independent research center at the University of Washington. Its mission is to monitor global health conditions and health systems, as well as to evaluate interventions, initiatives, and reforms. It uses cutting-edge approaches to tackle some of the most difficult and most critical questions in global health and to find answers that become the foundation for better policies and, ultimately, better health.

IHME has an outstanding opportunity for a Communications Officer on IHME’s Global Engagement Team. The Communications Officer serves as the primary storyteller for the Institute, taking the lead in researching and writing content that communicates the Institute’s work effectively and succinctly to a variety of external audiences. This is an exciting storytelling role with an opportunity to spearhead new communications initiatives and travel domestically and internationally to meet people whose lives are affected by the work we do and to tell their stories. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and exhibit global and cultural awareness, working respectfully with diverse individuals from cultures and institutions all over the world.
