Program Officer

Panorama is seeking a Program Officer (PO) to join the team and is looking for a team member who is nimble and strategic with the ability to quickly shift tactics as needed but not lose sight of overall goals. In addition, they are looking for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and is a creative problem solver, a strong collaborator, and a master doer with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position reports to a Director. This position is open to being fully remote on a permanent basis. When we return to the office our headquarters are located in Seattle, WA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Client and Project Management 

  • Manage peer-level day-to-day client relationships, including leading critical portions of calls and meetings and owning major deliverables
  • Propose ideas/recommendations on approaches related to communications, advocacy, and/or stakeholder engagement based on understanding of clients’ goals and the landscape
  • Collaborate with team to develop vision and strategy and facilitate conversations with multiple stakeholders to drive towards alignment in support of the strategy
  • Anticipate emerging crises and opportunities, effectively communicating implications for clients and offering recommendations for path forward
  • Over-communicate with supervisor on progress and challenges, sharing possible solutions to problems before they arise
  • Work independently and in collaboration with team members to ensure the successful execution of complex workstreams
  • Drive progress in situations where the goal or process to achieve those goals is unclear
  • Synthesize large quantities of input from both a micro- and macro-level to make connections and strategic recommendations

Organizational Support 

  • Support business development by identifying business opportunities and drafting materials to support cultivation of new partners
  • Support colleagues at all levels by providing real-time feedback and coaching
  • Monitor developments in key issue areas and flag opportunities for further engagement
  • Contribute to efforts to promote an organizational culture of continuous learning and improvement by proactively sharing information and lessons learned from projects, incorporating those learnings into action, and holding yourself and your colleagues accountable for results

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of professional experience in policy, advocacy, or communications, equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • At least one year of experience working in global development or global health
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize, conceptualize, and structure projects
  • Ability to successfully work in unstructured/ambiguous situations, creatively problem solve, and make recommendations
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Excellent project management skills
