Senior Manager, Technology Solutions

This position leads Global Impact’s Technology Solutions team. The role is a combination of software development management and enterprise architecture oversight and guidance. The Sr. Manager leads a team of (remote) technology professionals and a near shore development partner. The Sr. Manager oversees a robust project pipeline while having the technical experience to ensure that Global Impact builds compelling, technically sound, client-oriented solutions. The Sr. Manager works with the technology team to deliver business requirements in the predetermined timeframe. The position works with the Technology Solutions and Global Impact business units, working to align technology projects to the goals of the organization, and drive value through efficiency and innovation. Occasional travel (<10%) to partner organizations or conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering team utilizing best practices to deliver scalable solutions for client partners
  • Establish and maintain credibility with business leaders to effectively drive their portfolios
  • Act as a fundraising technology advocate – informing business leaders of new solutions and how they can impact client partners
  • Maintain ownership and accountability of organization’s enterprise architecture
  • Work with the Project Manager/Business Analyst to provide technical requirements for developers on staff and with our development partner

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 7 years’ progressive technology experience in applications development
  • At least 5 years’ experience of developing web applications
  • At least 3 years’ experience developing architectural standards
  • At least 3 years’ experience remote managing staff and development teams
  • Experience using and managing agile methodologies

Additional Required Experience includes:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, both internal and external
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles with an emphasis on quick reaction capabilities
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint and MS Office
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously of varied scale and complexity
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Experience in interacting directly with clients and senior leadership staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with non-profit fundraising and marketing solutions
  • Exposure to Ruby on Rails framework and content management systems such as Word Press or Drupal
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Ability to do code reviews for development staff
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, and similar tools
