The School of Dentistry has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Research Coordinator.

The Timothy A. DeRouen Center for Global Oral Health was established in 2017 within the University of Washington’s School of Dentistry. Our mission is to improve quality of life by promoting collaboration and inclusivity in oral and craniofacial research that impacts global health. The DeRouen Center carries out its mission through a range of international projects with developed research collaborations in Peru, Kenya, Thailand, and Seattle.

• This position (Project Appointment) will coordinate multiple grants and research projects grant reports, social media content and marketing, participate in developing research designs and data collection methods, and lead and participate in research subject recruitment, IRB submission, and questionnaire development. The successful candidate must be comfortable working within and across diverse cultures; displays effective resource management, team-orientation, collaborative style and outlook, highly credible – earns trust and respect, drives for results, display a sense of ownership, and is passionate about attaining goals and surpassing expectation. Candidates must also be a proactive problem solver, melding analytic reasoning with practical knowledge, ability to meet deadlines. And willingness to learn and follow through with a variety of projects. This position would be 1.0 FTE for 1-year maximum. Weekend and evening work sometimes required. Ability to travel to international site locations required.

REPORTS TO:
• Director of the Timothy A. DeRouen Center for Global Oral Health

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate multiple grants and research projects – make sure aims and targets are met in full and by deadlines. This includes writing and maintaining SOP’s and CRF’s for each project, and constant working meetings and collaboration with international site collaborators. Individual must possess strong multi-tasking and exceptional organizational skills.
• Participate in developing research designs, data collection methods, and strategies for data management.
• Lead and participate in research subject recruitment, IRB submission, and questionnaire development
• Manage the writing of grant reports, minor grant application development and any other relevant material required
• Coordinate social media and marketing content for the DeRouen Center and its sister unit, the School of Dentistry Office of Regional Affairs,
• Create and refine infographics for use in grant reports and presentations
• Use se online platforms and work with new software such as REDCap, Canva, reference software, etc.
• Write professional correspondence and communicate clearly with various stakeholders with enthusiasm, tact, and diplomacy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in health care/science field, public health, health education, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluent Spanish speaker.
